Burnaby, Canada All Things Speech Inc Full time

**About us**

All Things Speech Inc. is a pediatric speech therapy practice in South Burnaby, BC, operating as part of Lifelong Health Ltd., which opened in July 2023. The aim of the practice is to provide individualized and functional support to children and their families for various speech and language difficulties. Working together with clients and their families to set their communication goals and then work towards them is of utmost importance. All Things Speech is a neurodiversity-affirming practice - we strive to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all of our clients and their families.

We are seeking up to two skilled and passionate independent contractor Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to join our team part-time to begin (with opportunity to grow into full-time hours). At this time, we would prefer an SLP who could provide therapy to either children or both children and adults. Most clients will be seen in-clinic; however, some families may request a combination of in-clinic and virtual, and occasionally in-community (e.g. at daycare) depending on availability. Hours/shifts to be discussed, although ideally we'd prefer someone who has some after-school and/or weekend availability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct assessments and provide therapy to clients with a wide range of communication difficulties.
- Collaborate with clients and their families to set SMART functional goals.
- Develop and implement therapy plans to address clients' needs and goals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare/education professionals to provide integrated care to clients as needed.
- Document client progress in a timely manner and maintain accurate records using an EMR (Jane App).

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia.
- Registration on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) is an asset.
- Previous experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist is an asset.
- Knowledge of a second language is an asset.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate various software/equipment related to the job.
- Ability to embrace neurodiversity and adapt own practice as needed.

**Why Should You Work with Us**:

- We're building a team full of amazing individuals who are skilled and passionate about what they do.
- We work hard but we're also laid back and enjoy a good laugh.
- We're fair and very open to suggestions and feedback, as we want people to love working in our clinic.
- We have lovely admin staff that can help with your day-to-day.
- Our clinic is brand new and has great features (central heating/AC, handwashing sinks in each room, sit/stand desks, etc.)
- Lifelong Health also has chiropractors and soon RMTs/acupuncturists to help you get into tip-top shape for doing therapy (and admin work).
- We're located in a great location (Highgate Village Shopping Centre) that's transit-accessible and also has free underground parking. Need to work out after your shift? No problem; head upstairs to Club 16. Need groceries? Pop into Save-On-Foods or Shoppers Drug Mart. Need a pick-me-up drink? There's Starbucks and Tealips Cafe
