We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual who wants to bring their talents and ideas to The Canadian Press audio team to help ensure the company continues to provide a valued service to its current and future broadcast clients.

**Responsibilities**
- Identify stories that could have an audio component and see them through from ideation to creation
- Work with bureaus to ensure audio is delivered on a timely basis
- Work with reporters to provide back-up on major news events to ensure audio is provided to clients as quickly as possible
- Edit broadcast copy, including newscasts, reports and stories
- Work with newscasters to ensure the top stories are told in the best way possible
- Identify potential special projects and facilitates packaging
- Attend editorial planning meetings, when required
- Train staff across the country on the use of audio-related tools and workflows
- Troubleshoots audio-related technical issues
- Work with IT and developers to ensure staff are using the latest software and tools
- Assists in hiring and training of new staff for the Broadcast/Audio department
- Plans ahead and identifies potential for audio content on weekends & holidays
- Works with Director of Audio on new products

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Post secondary education and 3-5 years of relevant job experience using audio in storytelling
- Familiarity with major broadcast technologies and software (i.e. recording equipment, digital audio editing)
- Ability to do voice reports and audio recordings.
- Experience in a fast-paced daily newsroom environment.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to organize time and workflow.
- Familiarity with CP Stylebook and Caps and Spelling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to edit and improve colleagues' work on short notice
- Excellent news judgment & ability to assign stories
- Collaborative, team player

La personne choisie sera un évangéliste et un champion de l'audio à la PC, travaillant en étroite collaboration avec la direction de l'audio sur les opérations quotidiennes, les projets à plus long terme et le lancement de nouveaux produits.

**Responsabilités**
- Identifier les nouvelles qui pourraient avoir une composante audio et les suivre de l'idéation à la création
- Travailler avec les bureaux pour s'assurer que l'audio est acheminé à temps
- Travailler avec les reporters pour leur fournir le soutien lors d'événements majeurs afin de garantir que l'audio soit fourni aux clients le plus rapidement possible
- Réviser la copie radio, incluant les bulletins, les reportages et les nouvelles
- Travailler avec les lecteurs(trices) de nouvelles pour s'assurer que les principales nouvelles soient livrées de la meilleure façon possible
- dentifier des projets spéciaux potentiels et faciliter l'assemblage
- Participer aux réunions de planification rédactionnelle, lorsque nécessaire
- Former le personnel dans tout le pays à l'utilisation d'outils et de flux de travail liés à l'audio
- Résoudre les problèmes techniques liés à l'audio
- Travailler avec les services informatiques et les développeurs pour s'assurer que le personnel utilise les logiciels et les outils les plus récents
- Participer à l'embauche et à la formation du nouveau personnel des services radio/audio
- Planifier et identifier le potentiel de contenu audio pour les week-ends et les jours fériés
- Travailler avec la direction de l'audio sur de nouveaux produits

**Compétences et qualifications nécessaires**
- Diplôme d'études supérieures et 3 à 5 ans d'expérience professionnelle pertinente dans l'utilisation de l'audio en journalisme
- Connaissance des principales technologies et logiciels de radiodiffusion (par exemple, matériel d'enregistrement, montage audio numérique)
- Capacité à réaliser des reportages et des enregistrements audio
- xpérience dans l'environnement d'une salle de rédaction dynamique travaillant sur l'actualité quotidienne
- Souci du détail et habileté à bien organiser son temps et son travail
- Connaissance des guides de rédaction «CP Stylebook» et «Caps and Spelling»
