Position Overview:
The Sewing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and planning the activities of the Sewing Machine Operators, ensuring that the team is performing at a high level and reaching daily quotas.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Responsible for the main supervision of sewing machine operators
- Review the factory loading schedule daily and plan production accordingly
- Review the approved production sample and specifications before beginning production for each released purchase order
- Calculate how many sewing machine operators are required - based on 100% efficiency, per operation, and per style on orders cut and bundled to meet daily quotas.
- Assign the appropriate operators with matching skills to appropriate tasks
- Responsible for training and providing instruction to sewing machine operators in the department.
- Follow through with training for each operator to ensure they have a clear understanding of how to operate with acceptable efficiency and quality.
- Regularly update operators on how many units per hour and per day is required for 100% efficiency
- Advise the Manager of Production when operators are performing at acceptable levels to be timed (if at a temporary rate)
- Review payroll daily to measure both efficiencies and inefficiencies
- Review low performers and work with them to create action plans for improvement
- Perform quality checks on each operator in your department throughout the day
- Ensure all quality issues are being addressed and make corrections for improvement
- Provide a safe environment within the department and manufacturing floor
- Communicate core values to the team

**Let's Talk About You**:

- 5+ years of sewing experience, preferably in the apparel manufacturing industry
- 2-3 years supervisory experience
- Able to complete the Pre Production Sample independently
- Must be able to deal effectively with diverse group of workers
- Must be familiar with sewing machine operations
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize and operate proactively, handling issues in a calm manner when appropriate
- Able to stand for extended periods of time

- Responsable de la supervision principale des opérateurs de machines à coudre- Examiner quotidiennement le planning de chargement de l'usine et planifier la production en conséquence- Examiner l'échantillon de production approuvé et les spécifications avant de commencer la production pour chaque commande d'achat libérée- Calculer le nombre d'opérateurs de machines à coudre requis - basé sur une efficacité de 100 %, par opération et par style des commandes coupées et groupées pour atteindre les quotas quotidiens.- Assigner les opérateurs appropriés ayant les compétences correspondantes aux tâches appropriées- Responsable de la formation et de l'instruction des opérateurs de machines à coudre dans le département.- Assurer le suivi de la formation de chaque opérateur pour s'assurer qu'ils comprennent clairement comment opérer avec une efficacité et une qualité acceptables.- Mettre régulièrement à jour les opérateurs sur le nombre d'unités par heure et par jour requis pour une efficacité de 100 %- Informer le responsable de la production lorsque les opérateurs atteignent des niveaux acceptables pour être chronométrés (si à un taux temporaire)- Examiner la paie quotidiennement pour mesurer à la fois les efficacités et les inefficacités- Examiner les performances faibles et travailler avec elles pour créer des plans d'action d'amélioration- Effectuer des vérifications de qualité sur chaque opérateur de votre département tout au long de la journée- S'assurer que tous les problèmes de qualité sont traités et apporte
