At Canadian Tire we work flexibility embracing ‘Hybrid’ whereby individuals utilize a combination of working at a CTC campus and or virtually in service of outcomes. Determined by managers, decisions around work location will be made based on business and team needs and grounded in a desire to support individual well-being and personal needs. **What you’ll do**
- Clean, aggregate, and organize data from disparate sources and transfer it to data warehouses.
- Design data modeling processes to create algorithms and predictive models and perform custom analysis
- Manipulate large data sets and use them to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions to inform strategic business decisions
- Identify patterns in data. This includes having a keen sense of pattern detection and anomaly detection.
- Implement algorithms and statistical models to enable a computer to automatically learn from data. (Data Robot, Alteryx, Azure Machine Learning experience)
- Write computer programs and analyze large datasets to uncover answers to complex problems. Data scientists need to be comfortable writing code working in a variety of languages such as Java, R, Python, and SQL.
- Communicate actionable insights using data, often for a non-technical audience.
- Connect with stakeholders to gain a full understanding of the problems they’re looking to solve.
- Find analytical solutions to abstract business issues.
- Look beyond what’s on the surface to discover patterns and solutions within the data.
- Communicate across a diverse audience across all levels of an organization.
**What you bring**
- Python expert and Machine Learning specialist with skills in data-Analysis and working with various python libraries
- Working knowledge of relational data modelling, with experience in SQL server and query development
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (Pivot tables, Excel data models, VBA)
- Numerical skills used in a data science context, including working with numerical data in analytics and/or machine learning contexts
- Easy-going personality. You will actively participate in project discussions, GUI development, and code review
- Make modifications and fix bugs in existing Python code
- Strong multitasking, troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills;
- Experience with development of custom GUIs (Graphic User Interfaces); such as standard Python GUI library Tkinter
