**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking an **Advisor, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) **professional to join our **North Atlantic Project Group (NAPG) **in **Sudbury**. This position is permanent.

The Advisor, HSE will provide support to ensure that Vale’s Surface Project and Studies programs operate within the boundaries established by applicable Acts, Regulations and Codes as well as company policy. This will include supporting projects from the scope of work through to commissioning. The Advisor, HSE will participate in incident investigations, analyze trends in the key performance indicators, report HSE activities on a monthly basis and coordinate safety initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Implementation of the Safety Management System
- Track changes in legislation
- Facilitating project risk assessments and work planning
- Advise on the Health, Safety and Environmental considerations during project execution
- Conduct contractor pre-qualifications
- Advise on emergency response for projects

**About You**

Education**:

- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certified or eligible is an asset
- CSRP certified preferred

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of experience in safety related role
- Experience working on full cycle projects (from planning to execution and commissioning)

**Skills**:

- Supportive team member
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Solid knowledge and appreciation for Health, Safety and Environmental policy and procedures
- Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and leadership qualities
- Ability to influence colleagues from an indirect role
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
