**The Job - Drywaller**
Drywallers at On Side are important team members who, help rebuild and restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes. Delighting clients by making damaged drywall disappear, and new drywall appear in the form of smooth walls and appropriately textured ceilings, drywallers make clients believe magic has happened.
**What you bring**
Drywallers bring a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a ‘get it done’ attitude. Additional abilities required include:

- Experience working in construction environments with tools and the skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- A safety mindset
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
- Ability to communicate in English

**What you’re responsible for **A drywaller is skilled in the following ways:

- Measuring, cutting and installing drywall sheets
- Tear out old or damaged drywall
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks using trowel and broad knife
- Tape and embed joints
- Texturing of all types
- Site preparation and protection

**Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory**:

- Experienced in priming and painting
- Drywall Finisher and Plasterer ticket
- WHMIS
- First Aid

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Application question(s):

- Are you comfortable working in disaster environments such as water damage and fire damage?
- Are you able to complete the drywall job from insulation to finished painting?
- Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule? This is additional to scheduled day time hours.
- Are you proficient with hanging, taping, mudding, sanding and finishing?
- Will you practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite: Work with a "clean as you go" mentality?
- Are you fluent reading / writing/ speaking English? If no, please rank your skills out of 10.
- Are you able to do miscellaneous home renos (Carpentry) besides Drywalling? List your skills.

**Experience**:

- drywall repair (tearing out old and replacing with new): 1 year (preferred)
- texturing (all types): 1 year (preferred)
- painting (brush, roller, spray gun): 1 year (preferred)
- drywalling: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Canadian Driver's License (required)
