**Summary: Shop Inspector**

The role will involve the inspection of pumps equipment and components manufactured for our key markets: oil and gas, power, and water. Inspections are performed using various non-destructive testing techniques including visual, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic and Brinell hardness testing of materials. This position includes a focus on customer service and may include assistance with supplier surveillance reports.

**Essential Functions**:

- Daily inspection of components and processes; ensure conformance; report findings for further disposition
- Ensure final product meets all requirements prior to shipping
- Calibrate measuring & test equipment and maintain calibration database
- Coordinate activities with QA, Engineering and Manufacturing on inspections
- Ensure components and processes meet the engineered requirements
- Responsible for weld inspection, NDT examination, visual inspection, mechanical inspection, and testing of mechanical equipment with high precision and reliability performance standards
- Abide by provincial occupational health and safety regulations.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- broad knowledge of materials, mechanical principles, inspection and NDT techniques
- experienced in inspection of critical components, tools, jigs, fixtures and gauging devices
- can read complex and involved drawings and specifications
- can use both standard and precision measuring instruments with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to perform duties at a fast and demanding pace while maintaining accurate records
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

**Education, Certification, other requirements**:

- Strong manufacturing knowledge or experience in an industrial setting
- Familiarity with quality assurance functions strongly preferred and will include ISO 9001, CSA N285.0, CSA N299.1, ASME Section III, V, IX, ASTM, AISI
- CGSB NDE level II certification in MT/PT preferred or must be willing to attend training courses to obtain required CGSB and ASNT certifications
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal skills
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office; past experience with ERP systems ideal (SAP preferred)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Available for shift work, Day and Evening

**Salary**: $39.74-$45.41 per hour
