**Position Overview**:
We are looking for an Entry-Level Field Mechanical Technician for our tunneling division. As an Entry-Level Mechanical Technician, your primary focus will be on the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered heavy-duty equipment, as well as the meticulous attention to hydraulic control systems on our sites. In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and functionality of mechanical equipment for our tunneling projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of duties related to maintaining, operating, testing, and troubleshooting equipment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform routine maintenance on gasoline and diesel-powered heavy-duty equipment.
- Conduct inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with senior technicians to execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in gasoline and diesel engines.
- Operate hydraulic control systems on various equipment in confined space conditions.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic controls on various equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct tests to verify the efficiency of hydraulic systems.
- Generate accurate and comprehensive reports on maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols during maintenance, repair, and testing activities.
- Attend daily safety toolbox meeting and complete required safety documents
- Report any safety concerns promptly and participate in safety training programs.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and share technical insights.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and repair.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Document any modifications made to heavy-duty equipment.
- Working nights, weekends, extended shifts, overtime hours as required
- Other duties may be assigned.
**Who we are looking for**:
- **Diploma** in mechanical engineering, mechanical technology, or a related field.
- **Entry-level position**; practical training or internships in heavy-duty equipment maintenance is advantageous.
- Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engines and hydraulic control systems will be an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- **Strong safety senses** to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work in **outdoor** environments.
**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
