**Role and objectives**:
The Painter will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are painted to a consistently high quality in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere. Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment according to a pre-determined formula.
- Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items with protective or decorative coatings.
- Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.
- Mark, record, and report defects.
- Clean and perform preparation of worksite.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
- At times, assisting the drywaller.
- Working closely and respectfully with and around other trades.

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Post-Secondary diploma in a related field preferred
- (3) years of experience as a Painter
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Time management skills
- Critical eye for identifying defects.

- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.

- Avoid unnecessary conflict.
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes.
- Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
