Reporting to Customer Delivery Manager, the Production Planner’s role is to translate sales and forecast requirements into a master production schedule to meet customer requirements and optimize plant capacity.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintain and measure the Production Schedule using input from sales forecasts and customer purchase orders to meet customer demand.
- Chair weekly operations meeting to monitor progress against production schedule and take appropriate action to ensure that plans are in place to meet customer and operational requirements if schedule is not being achieved.
- Attend daily Tier 3 meetings and execute associated tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain metrics and KPI‘s to measure and track schedule performance.
- Work with Facilities Manager to plan preventive maintenance requirements into the schedule.
- Manage Process Orders from release through perforation to the warehouse according to the production schedule.
- Working with production, analyze the schedule and review Rough-Cut Capacity to ensure that all resources (machine and labour) are maximized at the most economical cost and operational efficiency.
- Co-ordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse and QA/QC to ensure released materials are available.
- Create and maintain integrated, finite production schedule which is coordinated with the Master Production Schedule.
- Act as the facilitator to ensure alignment and communication between operations and materials.
- Scheduling Customer Orders.
- Member of New Product/Technical Services Projects to ensure operational requirements are documented in the schedule.
- Other duties as required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Five years of manufacturing experience in an MRP environment
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of production and inventory control techniques (i.e. Material Planning, Master Production Scheduling and Shop Floor Control in a MRP II environment)
- Demonstrated ability to lead by influence in the organization and function outside the individual’s direct responsibilities to achieve overall business objectives
- Knowledge and experience in a variety of Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Strong knowledge of SAP with above average computer skills including word processing, graphics and spreadsheets
- Strong time management & interpersonal skills, including effective written and oral communication abilities
- Proven ability to achieve common objectives in a team environment
- APICS Certification an asset
