The Safety Coordinator will work with the HSE Director to monitor, develop and Maintain Pipeworx Policies; Procedures work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide Management and Front-line Supervision with guidance and support for the continual implementation and monitoring of the Pipeworx Health, Safety, Environment Management System and related standards.
**CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Assist in developing and then communicating and training on safe job procedures, safe work practices, and codes of practice.
- Assist the Safety Director with HSEMS and Safe Work Manuals
- Develop and test emergency response plans (ERP) and Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP)
- Administer, review, mentor, analyze/trend, and follow up on safety observation cards (SOC) on a regular basis.
- Monitor near misses and assist operational leaders in addressing, corresponding with severity.
- Assist and advise on hazard identification, assessment, and control (HIAC)
- Maintain l safety data sheets (SDS) inventory in hardcopy and electronic format.
- Conduct safety activities, worksite inspections, and safety observations. Assist with coaching where necessary.
- Participate in contractor management health and safety assessments.
- Coordinate and oversee the inspection and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE, including items such as atmospheric monitors, harnesses, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of pre-job meetings and facilitate when required.
- Assume a leadership role in ensuring the timeliness, thoroughness, and accuracy of data/workflow process within the incident management system.
**Knowledge & Skills**
- Must possess a valid, non-GDL driver's license.
- Adept at WCB claims management.
- Proficient in OHS legislation in multiple provinces.
- Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of participating in and facilitating group meetings
- Exemplary professional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Meticulous record-keeping skills
- Capable of working independently with mínimal direction

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
- Completion of an occupational health and safety program from a recognized post-secondary institution is considered an asset
- CSO or CRSP designation preferred
- Three years of experience in progressive safety management in the oil and gas construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of OH&S rules and regulations in all western Canadian provinces is required.
- Working knowledge of the federal hours of service and related DOT driver programs is required.
- Proven experience working within a dynamic team using a hands-on approach is required.
- Superior time management skills are required.
- Strong computer skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically in Excel and Outlook.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
