The Yes 2Trades program provides participants with 8 weeks of both group and one-on-one employment planning and preparation services, hands on training in residential, commercial, industrial painting and decorating followed by a job placement. Reporting to the Manager, the Coordinator-Instructor/Painter/Decorator will focus on providing in class instructions and practicum experience for all participants in the program. This position will also manage program budget, lead outreach/marketing activities, complete program evaluation and funder reports.

**Qualifications**
- Relevant education and minimum three years of experience working in the trades as a painter/instructor
- Knowledge of industry trends and apprenticeships
- Proven experience providing cost estimate with knowledge of all Health and Safety requirements for the trade
- Knowledge and understanding of the target group, labour market information and resources in Toronto for youth and other job seekers
- Certified in WHMIS, First Aid and Woking at Heights an asset
- Experience in developing employment opportunities or recruitment
- Excellent communication, negotiating and presentation skills
- Group leadership/curriculum/program development skills
- Ability to relate to socially and economically disadvantaged youth
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural/multi-racial workplace

**Specific Duties**
- Develop curriculum and deliver in class instructions on residential, commercial and industrial painting, ensuring curriculum is engaging and geared towards youth
- Instruct youth on health and safety protocols in a work environment
- Instruct/coach youth on building and installing scaffolding and swing gates,
- Assist youth with preparation and painting of sites for hands on training component
- Complete and submit necessary reports, evaluations and payroll attendance records
- Coordinate required materials, tools, participants and making all arrangements related to each paint site contracts
- Coordinate outreach/marketing activities to ensure continuous intake
- Advise customer on selection of colour schemes and choice of wall covering
- Provide cost estimates to clients
- Oversee participants on site
- Read specifications to determine quantities of paint materials required
- Manage budget and purchase materials required
- Contribute to the overall accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of financial reporting
- Work with the team in managing caseload to ensure all case notes and documentation for each file are completed, accurate and kept up-to-date
- Complete monthly statistical reports for the purpose of tracking and monitoring program outcomes
- Undertake other duties as maybe required to reach program objectives

**Organizational Responsibilities**
- Adheres to all YES policies and procedures and ensures confidentially is maintained on client, personnel, financial and agency matters
- Represents YES at all times in a professional manner
- Participates in regular supervision meetings
- Attends all staff meetings
- Works cooperatively with other team members
- Carries out any other duties, as required

**Starting Salary**:Salary Range $61,500 -$ 62,500 (under review)

**Location**: 555 Richmond St. W, Toronto, ON - Some travel to paint sites

**Hours of Work**:40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 9 - 5; Friday: 9-4.00
