**The Job**

The Affordable Housing Societies - one of BC’s largest not-for-profit affordable housing providers has an
immediate opening for a permanent full time **Cleaner **at our newest development in Delta - Ladner. At

**Reporting to the Property Manager** _(with a dotted line to the local Resident Manager,)_ the Cleaner serves a
key role in furthering the organization’s goals and objectives and ensuring the Mission to _“provide quality, _
- affordable rental homes so that families and individuals can thrive.” _The Cleaner will provide a well
- maintained, clean, and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff members. The Cleaner is responsible
for housekeeping, cleaning, disinfecting and general upkeep for care and good condition of the common areas
of the building and surrounding site.

seriously the social responsibility of effectively managing the housing of individuals of various backgrounds
including many who are highly vulnerable. You understand and are empathetic to the many reasons
individuals find themselves in precarious housing situations including trauma, addictions, mental health
challenges and the confidentiality that goes along with it.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities Include**:

- Responsible for cleaning and care of amenities room, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms,

foyer/entrance, garbage room, and exterior daily inspections
- Promptly respond to tenant requests
- Inform Resident Manager of accidents or other issues incurred during shift
- Other related duties as assigned

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes**:

- Some knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Good time management skills
- Excellent knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting agents/supplies
- Good written and oral communication, interpersonal and positive relationship-building skills

**Education, Experience, and Qualifications**:

- Minimum one year of cleaning/housekeeping experience
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent

**Mandatory Job Requirements**:

- Valid driver’s license (Class 5) and reliable vehicle
- Successfully pass a Criminal Records Search
