**Why are we hiring for this role?**

We are creating an immersive, projection-mapped, musical experience of the beloved story, Wizard of Oz. The audience will follow Dorothy and Toto as they are swept away to a fantastical realm, experiencing five rich lands of Oz come alive with song and dance. We are looking for a part-time Concept Artist, focused on Environments, to jump on board and work closely with our Creative Director and Concept Artist to help us bring this vision to visuals.

**What will you accomplish?**
- Create various 2D concepts for 3D models
- Collaborate with the design and development teams to understand and interpret their requirements and translate them into compelling concept art pieces
- Ensure that all delivered assets are on-style based on the direction from the Concept Artist and Creative Director
- Ensure that all delivered assets meet technical requirements set by the development team
- Make adjustments based on feedback from the Concept Artist and Creative Director
- Work with Production on planning and scope to meet deadlines in a timely fashion

**What do we need from you?**
- A portfolio showcasing your proficiency in environment concept art
- Experience creating 2D concepts for 3D environment assets: animals, vehicles, buildings, vegetation
- Experience creating 2D environment assets
- Strong intuition for distinctive silhouettes and shapes
- Excitement and passion for bringing fun and imaginative environments to life

**What will give you an edge?**
- Previous experience working as an environment concept artist for virtual experiences, video games or related industries
- Experience creating 360 paintings
- Ability to help mockup environment assets in 3D as well as 2D
- Game engine experience
- We are aiming to give our assets a painterly style (think Spiderverse or Arcane); any texture painting experience to help pull this style from concept into the production art would be an asset

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
