$135,000$158,000 CAD annually Our client, an established global software company, is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Developer to help design, build, and optimize the core services powering its cloud-based enterprise platform. The platform connects desktop applications, cloud services, and external systems, supporting customers worldwide. We're looking for an established senior-level developer with strong Python skills, extensive REST API development experience, and a solid understanding of microservices architecture. You'll work on complex technical challenges, particularly improving performance and reliability across interconnected services while ensuring a seamless customer experience. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across interconnected services, improving system responsiveness, scalability, and reliability. Contribute to software architecture and API design decisions, balancing performance, security, scalability, and maintainability. Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews. Collaborate with developers, technical leads, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers while fostering a collaborative engineering environment. Leverage AI-assisted development tools where appropriate, maintaining strong engineering judgment and code quality. Occasionally contribute to frontend development using React and TypeScript. 8+ years of professional software development experience , ideally with previous experience in a senior-level engineering role. At least 2 years of professional Python development experience , preferably as a primary backend language. Solid understanding of Experience developing backend services within complex, interconnected software platforms. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong knowledge of software architecture, system performance, scalability, troubleshooting, and optimization. Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and modern software development practices. Ability to independently solve complex technical problems, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and deliver reliable solutions. or similar Python frameworks. Experience troubleshooting and optimizing performance in distributed systems. Exposure to React and TypeScript. Experience in geoscience, geology, civil engineering, or data-intensive software platforms.
