Are you a Municipal Planning Engineer with a focus on hydraulic modelling and planning? Are you looking to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional engineers and technologists, on a variety of projects across Western Canada? This position works directly with the Municipal Infrastructure Planning Team out of our Burnaby office , as part of our broader OneISL Municipal Infrastructure Planning team managed out of Calgary. ISL is comprised of just over 600 employees including award-winning engineers, technologists, planners, landscape architects, scientists, and professionals that work together to deliver infrastructure projects that minimize environmental impacts and maximize benefits to the community. ISL’s Municipal Infrastructure Planning Team is a collaborative group of 13 individuals across Alberta and BC focused on planning and optimizing municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. We combine expertise in hydraulic modelling, master planning, and sustainable development to support infrastructure delivery across Western Canada. Our team iscurrently part of thelarger Water Team which ismade up of 30individualswho have close working relationshipscentered aroundwater, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
We haveexpertise inwater and wastewater treatment,pumping stations and reservoirs,linear infrastructurefor collection and distributionand of course water resources planning. We deliver on a variety of multidisciplinary projects. We have extensive expertise – We have a variety of expertise and are comprised of five sectors specializing in Transportation, Municipal and Community, Bridges, Building and Structures and Land and Environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively liaise with clients. Plan, analyze, and design urban hydraulic systems (potable water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater drainage) Complete hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of complex urban drainage systems using state of the art software Contribute to the learning and progression of artificial intelligence and automation in our industry Leverage your strong skills in water, wastewater and stormwater (including LID) to mentor junior staff Coordinate CAD design technologists to prepare designs Perform quality management – ensuring quality procedures are followed for drawings and reports How you prioritize work – we are a flexible work environment that changes direction at full speed Strong skills in modelling and planning in water, wastewater or stormwater Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater Pro, AquaTwin Water/Sewer, MIKE URBAN/Mike +, WaterCAD, PCSWMM, or HECRAS Assets: Familiarity with Civil 3D and ArcGIS Pro Our wellness philosophy encompasses the four pillars of physical, mental, financial and spiritual wellbeing which is why our benefits package is comprehensive and offers you some of the best available tools to maximize your career and lifestyle.
