The Master Trainer, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery supports the organization’s capacity to deliver standardized U-First® dementia training to health-care providers across the province. enhances the skills and knowledge of frontline staff in long-term care by promoting person-centred care practices to foster a shared understanding, language and approach to caring for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

As part of the Society’s health-care provider education delivery team, Master Trainers are responsible for leading the Train-the-Trainer component of the U-First® initiative, which expands the program’s reach by building internal facilitation capacity within long-term care organizations. They provide training, coaching and ongoing support to U-First® facilitators, ensuring the seamless and effective delivery of the program to a health-care audience. Master Trainers also support facilitator capacity and achievement of the overall program goals by directly facilitating U-First® education and collaborating with the Provincial Coordinator, Community of Practice, to support the development of the online learning centre, as needed.

This role reports to the Manager, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery.

Title: Master Trainer, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery
Contract: Temporary until September 30, 2027 (grant-funded term position)
Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week
Develop, coordinate and facilitate required training and ongoing opportunities for professional development, coaching and support to enhance the knowledge and skills of the organization’s U-First® facilitators.
Facilitate external train-the-trainer workshops to enhance health-care providers’ capacity to deliver U-First® training within their organization, as well as facilitating the standardized U-First® training for health-care providers.

Develop systems and processes for scheduling and monitoring staff participation and progress through mandatory facilitator training components and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Support and participate in provincial and national U-First ® community of practice activities, and the U-First® Collaborate with the Provincial Coordinator, Community of Practice to ensure alignment between the provincial community of practice deliverables and goals of the education program.
Conduct ongoing evaluation of the health-care provider education program, ensuring compliance with evaluation and statistics procedures.
Support awareness of the health-care provider education program for the health-care sector through various outreach and awareness activities, including networking, attending events and developing content for the Society’s publications, website and other communication channels.
Maintain confidential client files, including recording training attendance and stakeholder engagement using Raiser’s Edge software.
Collaborate with the Manager, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery to support the development of an annual plan for implementing and delivering health-care provider education.
course work and the requirements to obtain the Certified Dialogue Education Teacher (CDET) certification through Global Learning Partners to fulfill the requirements for U-First® Master Trainer certification.
You have 3 to 5 years of experience in the health or social care sector with people living with dementia, along with a relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 to 5 years of experience working in the health or social care sector with people living with dementia and/or their caregivers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
~ Experience in group facilitation and delivering standardized education or training programs, both in person and online.
~ Preferred experience in direct care roles with people living with dementia, such as in long-term care or adult day programs.
~ Knowledge of adult education best practices, including dialogue-based learning.
~ Experience coaching and supporting professionals to achieve goals.
~ Experience developing programs or contributing to project deliverables.
~ Ability to build trusting relationships with community partners and health-care providers.
~ Willingness to travel regularly within the province, with flexibility for evening and weekend work.
~ Technical qualifications
Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to maintain confidential client files, including recording training attendance and interest-holder engagement using Raiser’s Edge software.
