About the Role
OWLSystems Solutions is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, performance, and accessibility of our web and software applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manual and automated testing , be comfortable working in an Agile environment, and have hands-on experience with modern automation and testing tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases based on business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain automated End-to-End (E2E) and regression test suites using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
- Conduct API testing and validate data flow between applications, services, and external interfaces.
- Perform accessibility testing based on WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 guidelines.
- Conduct keyboard-only, screen-reader, and automated accessibility testing using tools such as axe, Lighthouse, and NVDA.
- Identify, document, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Provide clear defect reports including reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, severity, environment, and supporting evidence.
- Perform regression testing after defect fixes and application enhancements.
- Support performance, load, stress, and scalability testing using tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, ambiguities, and potential quality risks.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure release readiness.
- Maintain test documentation, test reports, QA metrics, and requirements traceability.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, automation coverage, testing standards, and overall product quality.
- Support CI/CD testing integration and help improve automated testing efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing.
- Strong experience in both Manual Testing and Test Automation.
- Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and software testing life cycle.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar test/defect management tools.
- Knowledge of WCAG and Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Experience with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and accessibility testing tools.
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, E2E, and non-functional testing.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document test results clearly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
