Join CHEO as a Child and Youth Counsellor, where you'll provide crisis intervention and support for children facing mental health challenges. This Ottawa-based role requires your expertise in pediatric psychiatry and teamwork to foster healing. As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, your role is crucial in providing assessments and interventions for children and adolescents with complex mental health conditions. You will develop engaging programs for inpatient and day treatment settings while supporting patients and their families. Mentorship for new staff and students is encouraged, allowing you to shape future professionals. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and plan care for program patients
- Participate in interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Develop activities for inpatient and day treatment programs
- Offer supportive counselling to patients and families
- Provide learning experiences for patients and families
- Graduate from a Child and Youth Counselling program
- Experience in pediatric psychiatry
- Eligible for OACYC certification
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
