Road & Rail Equipment Technologies, a Universal Rail Systems Company, supports railway operators across Canada. This field Heavy Duty Mechanic position focuses on equipment, vehicle, trailer, and miscellaneous equipment maintenance. You will observe operators, review inspections and log books, and provide mechanical instruction. The work requires travel throughout Western Canada and operation in varied weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment, vehicles, trailers, and miscellaneous company equipment
- Report conditions and required mechanical repairs or maintenance
- Carry out authorized repairs, maintenance, and equipment modifications
- Advise Foreman about faults requiring equipment removal from service
- Maintain shop tools, work bays, tooling, and required records
Requirements:
- Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic or Journeyman designation
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance, storage, and safety procedures
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stress-management, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and in inclement weather
