Pay Range:

$60.00hr - $65.00hr Job Overview: Our client is seeking a Java Developer with Angular expertise for a contract role in Montreal, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, deploy and support enterprise applications using Java and related technologies. Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to analysis, solution design, implementation, testing and production support. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions. Drive engineering best practices including code quality, automation, application resiliency, performance and operational support. Contribute to application modernisation, continuous improvement initiatives and agile delivery processes.

Required

Experience:

Strong commercial software development experience with Java (Java 17) and Spring Boot. Experience building and supporting REST APIs and backend services. Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software engineering principles and development best practices. Experience with SQL, relational databases, automated testing and CI/CD practices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex production issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management skills. Experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Desirable

Experience:

Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Angular (web development), microservices architectures, cloud-hosted environments, observability platforms (OpenTelemetry) and DevOps practices would be beneficial. Previous experience within financial services or other large-scale enterprise environments is advantageous. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded engineer who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of delivery, and is comfortable working across a range of initiatives in a collaborative global environment. The candidate will combine strong technical capability with the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with development teams, support teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
