Elevate your career as a Clinical Coding Specialist with Alberta Health Services (AHS). This role focuses on coding clinical documentation using ICD-10-CA/CCI, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. In this Health Information Management Professional I position, you will engage with patient health records and contribute to data quality initiatives. Your attention to detail will play a crucial role in maintaining high coding standards while efficiently managing workflow. You will be required to pass a provincial coding proficiency test prior to interview. Key Responsibilities:
- Review clinical documentation for coding accuracy
- Apply diagnoses and intervention codes per guidelines
- Identify and escalate documentation issues
- Run and reconcile reports for data quality
- Maintain confidentiality of all AHS information
- Diploma from an accredited HIM program
- Eligibility with Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- Knowledge of Canadian Coding Standards
- Minimum one year coding experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
