As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role within a well-established manufacturing firm. Collaborating closely with the HR Manager and leadership, you will engage in a hands-on approach to promoting a robust safety culture on the plant floor. You will support compliance with Ontario legislation and lead various safety programs and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and update health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments regularly
- Lead investigations for incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
- Train employees on safety protocols, including WHMIS
Requirements:
- 2–4 years of health and safety experience in manufacturing
- Knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- JHSC certification or willingness to obtain
