Develop mortgage trading expertise with TD Securities in Toronto, using Python and Excel across Canadian residential mortgage markets. Gain practical capital markets experience.
This Winter Term 2 internship supports TD Securities' Global Markets, Residential Mortgage Trading team. You will analyze mortgage, lender, and portfolio data while supporting acquisition, hedging, funding, pooling, and securitization activities. The work connects residential mortgages with mortgage-backed securities and institutional markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with mortgage acquisition, funding, pooling, and securitization activities
- Analyze hedging exposures and prepare accurate risk reporting
- Build tools and recurring processes using Excel and Python
- Research Canadian mortgages, fixed income, regulations, and securitization
- Present defined project results to the trading team
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Curiosity about capital markets, fixed income, mortgages, or securitization
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and large-dataset comfort
- Strong Python proficiency for analysis and troubleshooting
- Financial modelling experience is an asset
