Support emergency veterinary care in Calgary with patient handling, diagnostic imaging assistance, and compassionate client service. This full-time role requires rotating-shift flexibility.
Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre seeks an experienced ER Technician Assistant for its emergency department. You will support Veterinarians and Technicians while helping create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients. Veterinary experience or a certificate is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Veterinarians and Technicians with pet patient treatments
- Provide compassionate feeding and walking care
- Handle and restrain patients safely
- Run lab work and assist diagnostic imaging
- Support patient care in the ICU with the ER team
Requirements:
- Exceptional client service skills building trust and loyalty
- Compassionate, nurturing approach to clients and patients
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under stress
- Initiative completing assignments independently
- Flexibility for weekends, evenings, overnights, holidays, and weekdays
