Position Overview Our client, an employee-owned consulting firm recognized for its innovative approach to mine water management and site planning, is seeking an Intermediate Water Resources Engineer to support the development of practical and defensible water management solutions for mining projects across Western Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded engineer who enjoys hydrology, water balance modeling, and data-driven decision-making . You’ll work closely with senior engineers and hydrologists to build and refine GoldSim water balance models that inform mine planning, operations, and environmental permitting.

Develop and maintain GoldSim models to support mine water management, site planning, and regulatory permitting.
Gather, review, and analyze site data (e.g., climate, hydrology, infrastructure, and water balance inputs).
Execute modeling runs, conduct sensitivity analyses, and interpret results to provide practical recommendations.
Prepare technical documentation , reports, and figures summarizing modeling methods and outcomes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — including civil, environmental, and hydrological engineers — to integrate modeling results into project designs.
Support field investigations , data collection , and site assessments as required.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of modeling workflows, tools, and templates.
Participate in client meetings and provide technical input under the guidance of senior project leads.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mining Engineering , Hydrology , or Geoscience .
~7+ years of experience in water resources, hydrology, or environmental modeling (mine water experience preferred).
~ Proficiency with GoldSim for water balance or systems modeling (experience with probabilistic or stochastic modeling is an asset).
~ Strong understanding of mine water systems , site infrastructure , and environmental permitting processes in BC.
~ Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
~ Willingness and ability to travel for occasional site work, including remote and outdoor environments.
