Build a healthcare career in Kelowna through Baptist Housing's paid HCAP training as a Health Care Support Worker. This temporary full-time position serves seniors.
Baptist Housing offers an entry-level pathway for aspiring healthcare professionals without prior healthcare experience. You will support residents in long-term care and assisted living while working under regulated healthcare professionals. The program combines employment, employer-paid education, hands-on experience, and practicum training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support residents with daily routines and overall comfort
- Maintain clean, safe, welcoming environments
- Assist care teams under healthcare professional direction
- Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and team members
- Participate fully in HCAP training, education, and practicum
Requirements:
- Grade 10 completion, including English 10 or equivalent
- Strong English communication skills
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident with proof
- Not currently working as a Health Care Assistant
- Commitment to full-time paid training and college education
Develop compassionate, person-centered care skills through Baptist Housing's HCAP pathway toward Health Care Assistant registration.
