Compensation: Effective September 1, 2025 - $36.03 per nominal hour Effective September 1, 2026 - $37.11 per nominal hour The above rates do not include vacation pay. Vacation pay shall be in accordance with Article 16.02.

Duties
The duties and nominal hours for Education Instructors are established by the employer. The nominal workload is normally made up of scheduled contact time with students as well as non-contact time. This includes but is not limited to preparation of lectures, class instruction, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
Qualifications
- 1. Doctoral Degree (PhD, EdD) in Educational Studies, Educational Leadership, Community Education, Curriculum Studies, Social Justice Education or a related discipline
- 2. Experience teaching experiential, community placement-based courses at the university level
- 3. Demonstrated expertise in supervising students in community placements, facilitating reflective learning, and administering the required paperwork associated with the community placements
- 4. Teaching documentation: evidence of teaching competence at the undergraduate university level, official student and peer evaluations; teaching dossier; and/or references. Ability to work independently without immediate direct supervision. Active participation in curriculum development; sharing of responsibilities in careful test preparation; student assessment; prompt and accurate marking
- 5. Skills related to the incorporation of web-based pedagogical techniques, materials and resources in the teaching of the course, as required. Competence in the use of email, Brightspace/D2L, internet, common office software (e.g. Word, Excel) and multi-media equipment.
