As a Staff Backend Software Engineer, you will shape foundational infrastructure and user-facing features for leading law firms and enterprise customers. Harvey’s platform supports authentication, permissions, feature flags, notifications, and document management integrations. You will work across platform engineering and product iteration.
Key Responsibilities
Design foundational backend infrastructure for enterprise platform capabilitiesBuild internal systems supporting multiple product linesDevelop secure collaboration and cross-organization workflowsMaintain security, privacy, and system reliabilityCollaborate with product, AI, design, and GTM teamsRequirements:
10+ years of backend-focused software engineering experienceExperience shipping user-facing features across the stackKnowledge of distributed systems, REST/gRPC APIs, and databasesFamiliarity with enterprise SaaS patterns and integrationsStrong programming skills and Computer Science knowledgeBring platform engineering, backend architecture, and enterprise product experience to Harvey’s Toronto engineering team.
