About the OpportunityOwn and continuously improve core accounting operations, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and delivered on scheduleDirect and execute the full monthly close cycle, including journal entries, supporting documentation, and quality review of team outputsEstablish and uphold effective internal control frameworks to safeguard financial accuracy and regulatory complianceOversee balance sheet integrity by managing account reconciliations and resolving variances in a timely mannerAdminister and maintain the organization's capital asset records and depreciation schedulesProduce periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual), including statements, cash flow analysis, and investment-related entries, aligned with budgeting and liquidity objectivesDeliver insightful financial analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-makingCoordinate external audit engagements, including audit readiness, documentation preparation, and response to auditor requestsComplete statutory and government reporting requirements (e.g., indirect tax filings) and manage accounting activities for affiliated charitable entitiesEvaluate existing accounting policies, systems, and workflows, recommending and implementing enhancements where appropriatePartner with finance colleagues and internal stakeholders to strengthen governance, reporting consistency, and operational effectivenessAbout YouProfessional accounting designation (CPA) with formal education in accounting or financeApproximately 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on technical work and guidance or supervision of junior staffStrong working knowledge of Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises; experience in the not-for-profit sector is an assetAdvanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience working with financial systems requiredExposure to reporting automation or analytics tools (e.g., VBA, Power BI, CRM platforms) considered beneficialCollaborative communicator who builds strong relationships across departmentsHighly organized, analytical professional with a strong focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvementHow to ApplyClick the "Apply Now" button and follow the instructions to submit your resume.
