Support patient flow at Mount Sinai Hospital as a Unit Clerk in Labour and Delivery, using Cerner and accurate data entry. This temporary part-time position requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Sinai Health seeks a Unit Clerk for its tertiary care Labour and Delivery Unit in Toronto. You will coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, appointments, and orders while supporting patients, families, visitors, and staff. The work includes Cerner documentation, patient charts, unit statistics, security support, and administrative services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient flow throughout Labour and Delivery
- Interview, admit, and register patients under hospital procedures
- Process appointments, physician orders, and diagnostic orders
- Maintain charts, statistics, and critical unit data
- Respond to emergency codes and support unit security
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree from an accredited educational institution
- One year processing various forms of payment
- Minimum keyboarding and data entry speed of 40 words per minute
- Proficiency with Patient Care Systems and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of medical terminology or Cerner is preferred
