Independent Contractor Opportunity – Flight Deck Integration & Human Factors Engineer Location: Dorval, QC | Hybrid | 18–24 months | Mid-Senior Level We are seeking an Independent Contractor to join a team focused on flight deck design and human factors in Dorval, QC. This role ensures that cockpit interfaces are ergonomic, intuitive, and compliant with aviation standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain HMI design specifications for flight deck displays and controls Perform requirements capture, verification & validation Lead small projects and provide technical guidance Support development and certification testing (bench, simulator, aircraft) Ensure adherence to aerospace regulations and standards Conduct Human Error Analysis and assist in design reviews Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering + Human Factors training 6–9 years of experience in flight deck systems or avionics integration Knowledge of flight operations and aerospace regulations Familiarity with standards (MIL STD, SAE ARP, ARINC) Strong technical writing and communication skills Expected start: Spring 2026 Mobility: Occasional business trips Language: English required, French an asset This is a mandate for an Independent Contractor, not an employee position. Ce rôle garantit que les interfaces du cockpit sont ergonomiques, intuitives et conformes aux normes aéronautiques. Responsabilités clés : Développer et maintenir les spécifications de conception HMI pour les affichages et commandes du poste de pilotage Effectuer la capture des exigences, la vérification et la validation Diriger de petits projets et fournir des conseils techniques Soutenir le développement et les essais de certification (banc, simulateur, aéronef) Assurer le respect des réglementations et normes aéronautiques Réaliser des analyses d'erreurs humaines et participer aux revues de conception Exigences : Diplôme de baccalauréat en ingénierie + formation en facteurs humains/ergonomie cognitive 6 à 9 ans d'expérience dans les systèmes de poste de pilotage ou l'intégration avionique Connaissance des opérations de vol et des réglementations aéronautiques Familiarité avec les normes (MIL STD, SAE ARP, ARINC) Excellentes compétences en rédaction technique et en communication Date de début prévue : Printemps 2026 Mobilité : Déplacements professionnels occasionnels Langue : Anglais requis, français un atout Il s'agit d'un mandat pour travailleur autonome/en freelance, et non d'un poste salarié.
