Intermediate Accountant, Assurance Full-Time | Two days in office/week Stern Cohen LLP is a rapidly growing, award-winning, public accounting firm at Yonge and St. Despite our 55+ year history, our approach is thoroughly modern (like our paperless office and use of cloud technologies). Stern Cohen LLP is seeking a full-time Junior/Intermediate Accountant to join the Firm’s Assurance Team. The role focuses mainly on assurance, compilations, and tax engagements. Audit and review engagements, including: Preparation and completion of planning documents and financial statements Recognition of accounting issues and cooperation with the manager/partner to create solutions Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, related checklists and additional tax filings Gain an appropriate level of personal and corporate tax knowledge Maintain and develop knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and updates Contribution to firm growth and community CPA designation or pursuing completion ~2-3 of progressive experience in a public accounting practice ~ Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment ~ Proficiency and knowledge of accounting software, including Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office, including Excel Stern Cohen Accountants is an award-winning Toronto accounting firm with a modern outlook and a strong reputation for world-class service and employee satisfaction.
