About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer with a specialization in Logistics and Supply Chain to join their team in East London . This role will focus on sourcing and managing services related to transportation, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring the efficient flow of goods. You will play a key part in negotiating contracts, optimizing logistics costs, and building strong relationships with service providers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the logistics landscape and a proven ability to drive value through strategic procurement within this critical operational area.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and manage contracts for logistics services, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
- Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key logistics partners and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and import/export requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and work to resolve any service-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics services with overall supply chain operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement , with a specific focus on logistics or supply chain services.
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts for transportation and warehousing services.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, supply chain management, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
