Who We Are:
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of this project, we are currently looking for a Senior Construction Coordinator to join our team.
What will you do:
- Responsible for all construction activities related to piles installation, excavation, GIMP, dewatering, concrete, road grading and paving, landscaping, drainage, traffic, and any utility work.
- Provides technical and construction expertise and support to specific areas of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical works.
- Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for schedule, functionality, and cost benefit.
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, RFI’s, and shop drawings and administrate the project completion requirements.
- Coordinate with Client on the status/progress of construction works, manage risks, explain methodologies, and stakeholder management.
- Coordinate with the design team to review design drawings, provide constructability input, progress design to meet deliverables on time, and address compliance issues, quality issues, and unforeseen site conditions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to build schedule, obtain estimates, define scope of works, develop construction plans, coordinate construction on site, inspect works for quality and compliance, and manage conflicts that arise.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for agreements, permits, approvals, and to obtain additional information.
Education and Qualification:
- Engineering / Engineering Technologist / Construction Technology Diploma, Degree, or Post Graduate Certificate required.
- 5+ years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Experience on multidisciplinary, large-scale railway and/or infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Ability to proactively identify and document any problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment standards, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and conceptualize construction drawings and identify potential constructability issues.
- Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, SAP.

- Identify and manage risks and opportunities on the project.
- Monitor cost and schedule and correct deviations to keep the project on time and within budget.
- Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.
Why Join Us?
Compensation: $83000 - $110,000 annually. The listed salary range reflects potential base pay and considers factors such as experience, education, and training. Each candidate is evaluated individually and offers toward the higher end may be extended to those with exceptional qualifications.
