D-Wave Quantum Inc. is hiring an Experimental Physicist II to lead advancements in superconducting devices in Burnaby, Canada. This role offers the chance to innovate within cutting-edge quantum technologies. As part of the Processor Development team, you will work closely with physicists and engineers to better understand and reduce noise in quantum processors, paving the way for enhanced device performance. You will apply your knowledge of experimental research and quantum mechanics to develop models and analyze data that will significantly influence D-Wave’s product offerings. Key Responsibilities:
- Characterize and calibrate superconducting quantum processors
- Improve performance through device enhancements
- Develop simulations to analyze experimental outcomes
- Record experimental findings for team knowledge sharing
- Collaborate in software development for processor operations
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in physics or related area
- Strong technical problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in experimental design and automation
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
- Willingness to adapt to new challenges
