Insight Global is looking for a Test Technician / Operator for a leading Aerospace & Defence client in Ottawa, ON. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working on-site Monday to Friday with a 2-shift rotation schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical installation of engines and test components, preparing test beds and instrumentation, operating altitude testing equipment, monitoring engine performance during test execution, recording test data, troubleshooting issues, and supporting facility operations while adhering to safety and quality standards. Technical college diploma in aircraft maintenance, aviation technology, mechanical technology, or a related field ~1-2 years of mechanical, technical, industrial, or control room experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply) ~ Ability to work a rotating 2-shift schedule ~ Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems ~ Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) ~ Functional English communication skills ~ Experience with engine testing, test cells, or aerospace testing environments ~ Familiarity with test instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems ~ Experience monitoring equipment through HMI or control systems ~ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, or mechanical diagrams ~ Background in diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a control room environment ~ Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) practices ~ Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives ~ Project coordination or project management experience ~ Previous experience within the aerospace, defence, aviation, or industrial manufacturing sectors Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
