Position Overview
Switch It Up is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both commercial and residential electrical work, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism. Experience with fire alarm systems is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial environments
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions
- Install and service lighting, panels, wiring, and related electrical components
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on schedule
- Assist with fire alarm installations and maintenance (experience considered an asset)
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician certification
- Experience in commercial and residential electrical installations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Fire alarm installation or service experience is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
