The Opportunity

Themission of the Manager, Community Resource Database – Editorial Services is tochampion and expand the reach, quality, and impact of Findhelp’s communityresource directories. Leading a dedicated team of database curators, this role overseesdatabase maintenance, enforces rigorous standards, and stewards keypartnerships to ensure quality service delivery.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead,mentor, and manage the Editorial team through active work planning, goalsetting, performance management, and strategic visioning.
  • Policy, Standards and System Integration:Analyze, refine, and implement editorial policies and workflows withsystem solutions (including taxonomy classification, inclusion/exclusioncriteria, and style standard implementation) to maintain quality and driveconsistency across databases.
  • Opportunity and Partnership Coordination:Manage internal and external directory initiatives, coordinating theirdevelopment and execution to expand directory reach and impact.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partnerwith the broader leadership team to develop and execute organizationalinitiatives aligned with Findhelp’s core values, strategic priorities, andleadership competencies.
  • Otherresponsibilities as required to meet department and organizational goals.

What You Bring:

  • Editorial and Quality Control: Strongresearch, writing, and editing skills with keen attention to detail andthe ability to assess quality for continuous improvement.
  • Database Management: In-depth knowledgeof database management, standards, best practices, and application withinthe Information and Referral (I&R) system in Canada.
  • SectorKnowledge: Knowledge and understanding of community, social and humanservices field in Canada.
  • People Management and DepartmentLeadership: Strong capabilities in leading editorial teams, work planning,performance management, goal setting, and driving departmental alignmentwith broader organizational strategies.
  • Understanding of informationclassification systems, taxonomy and style guides is an asset.
