Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Controller to support the overall financial health and performance of the company.
- Administer accounting operations in accordance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and applicable legal requirements.
- Manage general ledger and subledger reconciliations, asset accounting, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee the flow of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other accounting records.
- Maintain accurate financial information and records within Sage ERP.
- Prepare trial balances and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Participate in internal and external financial audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Support the review, development, and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial systems.
- Provide additional financial analysis and support to management as required.
Qualifications
- Business Degree required.
- 2-4 years' accounting/finance experience required.
- CPA certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of Sage/QuickBooks Online is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
