The Commercial Insurance Underwriting Manager leads profitability, growth, distribution, and sales management for the Commercial Insurance book. The manager oversees multiple multiline underwriters, partners with Territory Underwriting Managers and Lines of Business, and supports growth and profitability objectives. Responsibilities span underwriting strategy, producer relationships, staff development, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee premium, retention, profitability, and expense managementExecute new and renewal underwriting strategiesManage referrals outside branch underwriting authorityDevelop Commercial Insurance sales and marketing strategiesCoach, mentor, and develop Commercial Insurance staffRequirements:
10+ years of insurance industry experienceStrong middle market property and casualty knowledgeExperience managing brokers, agents, and aggregatorsStrong technical underwriting backgroundLeadership, communication, and strategic relationship-building skillsLead Chubb’s Toronto Commercial Insurance team through underwriting excellence, profitable growth, producer distribution, and staff development.
