Join Smooth Commerce as a Backend PHP Developer driving digital solutions in the restaurant tech sector. This fully remote position emphasizes backend service scalability and API integration. As a key engineering team member, the Backend PHP Developer will focus on building and maintaining robust server-side systems for Smooth’s applications. With at least 6 years of experience, you'll develop and optimize scalable PHP services using Symfony and MySQL. The role includes mentoring, agile collaboration, and leading third-party integrations to enhance platform capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain backend services using PHP and Symfony
- Lead third-party integrations for improved functionalities
- Design optimized and secure modular code architecture
- Engage in Agile/Scrum practices with cross-functional teams
- Provide mentorship and document system behaviors
- Minimum 6 years of backend development experience
- Proficient in PHP 7/8, MySQL, and API integrations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker and Ansible
- Ability to mentor and describe complex solutions clearly
