As a Direct Support Professional, you will work closely with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role requires commitment to person-centered support while promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to adapt your approach based on each individual's unique strengths and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living routines and personal care
- Foster a calm and inclusive home environment
- Implement positive behavior strategies and support plans
- Encourage communication and coping skills development
- Identify and respond to early signs of distress
Requirements:
- Diploma in Social Service Work or equivalent
- Experience with adults with disabilities or dual diagnosis
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Proficient with AIMS and Microsoft Office
- Valid Ontario G driver's license required
