Position Summary
- We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Specialist to own and advance Finance Technology products and capabilities across their full lifecycle, from ideation and discovery through implementation, launch, adoption, ongoing optimization, and retirement. The successful candidate will combine strong product ownership, practical technical fluency, and a solid understanding of banking and finance processes to translate business priorities into secure, scalable, and measurable technology outcomes.
- This role will work closely with Finance, FP&A, Technology, Data, Operations, and delivery partners. The Senior Product Specialist will shape product vision and roadmaps, manage the backlog and delivery outcomes, support governance and controls, and ensure that solutions deliver a strong user experience and sustainable business value. Experience with enterprise planning technologies such as Anaplan, Apptio and Axiom and familiarity with a bank’s core financial products, are important to success in the role.
- ROLE MANDATE Own the product lifecycle and connect Finance strategy, user needs, technology delivery, and operational accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Lifecycle Ownership
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned Finance Technology products, including opportunity identification, discovery, business case development, prioritization, delivery, launch, adoption, optimization, and decommissioning.
- Define and communicate the product vision, value proposition, target outcomes, roadmap, and release priorities in alignment with Finance and Technology strategies.
- Build evidence-based product plans using stakeholder input, user feedback, operational data, risk considerations, and measurable business value.
- Maintain a clear, prioritized backlog with well-defined outcomes, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Monitor product health, adoption, service performance, risks, technical debt, and benefits realization throughout the lifecycle.
Finance & FP&A Product Enablement
- Partner with FP&A and Finance teams to improve planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, scenario analysis, workforce planning, and performance-management capabilities.
- Own or support Finance Technology products such as Anaplan planning applications, data hubs, workflow and reporting experiences, integration services, and related analytics capabilities.
- Translate Finance needs into product capabilities that improve planning accuracy, transparency, speed, controls, and user experience.
- Guide product decisions involving platforms such as Anaplan, Apptio, Axiom, Hyperion or other EPM solutions, Power BI, Databricks, cloud data platforms, APIs, and enterprise integration services.
- Ensure appropriate data lineage, reconciliation, auditability, access controls, and support models are considered in product design and delivery.
Technical Product Delivery
- Work with engineering, architecture, data, quality engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and vendor teams to convert product outcomes into feasible delivery plans.
- Participate in solution discussions involving application architecture, data models, integration patterns, APIs, batch and event-driven processing, cloud services, security, resiliency, and observability.
- Lead product-level planning across the overall software development life cycle, including requirements, solution design, development, testing, release readiness, change management, production implementation, and post-launch stabilization.
- Make informed scope and sequencing decisions by balancing customer value, technical complexity, cost, risk, capacity, and regulatory obligations.
- Promote reusable capabilities, engineering standards, automation, and disciplined management of technical debt.
Stakeholder, Governance & Vendor Management
- Act as the primary product contact for business sponsors, users, delivery teams, control partners, and senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, roadmap reviews, demonstrations, release decisions, and product governance forums.
