The role of the PM is to obtain and manage the supply of Contract Dewatering Services that include assessing of the geotechnical and hydrogeological, as well as surface water conditions on the site, obtain all environmental permits including PTTW and Discharge Permits, prepare an engineered dewatering plan defining the dewatering and discharge management systems, as well as the related environmental monitoring program(s) to provide a complete and comprehensive solution to our clients. We are seeking a skilled Project Manager – Dewatering and Bypass to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of industrial and municipal water treatment projects. This role involves coordinating technical design, construction activities, and commissioning of treatment systems while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of water treatment processes, project scheduling, and field execution, along with proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of dewatering and bypass pumping projects from initiation to completion. Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations aligned with scope and client expectations. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents for dewatering and bypass applications. Conduct site visits to assess conditions, confirm system requirements, and support installation and commissioning. Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and equipment to maintain efficient and safe project execution. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, equipment, labour, and subcontracted work. Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and internal teams during design, estimating, and proposal stages. Prepare and submit tenders, clarifications, and supporting documentation. Maintain accurate pricing databases, supplier relationships, and resource cost tracking. Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm scope coverage and secure competitive pricing. Support the handover from estimating to execution by communicating technical details and project objectives. Monitor cost performance, resource usage, and margin forecasts throughout the project lifecycle. Lead or assist in resolving claims, change orders, and scope adjustments. Oversee quality control measures and evaluate performance against key quality indicators. Enforce project safety standards and regulatory compliance on all worksites. Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams to align progress and expectations. Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development through technical guidance and leadership. Qualifications & Experience (Project Manager – DW & BP) Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or related Engineering field. (Background in geotechnical, hydrogeological, or water systems engineering is an asset.) Minimum 5 years of progressive experience managing construction projects involving dewatering, bypass pumping, or related temporary pumping systems. Proven experience in wellpoint, deep well, or sewer bypass applications is a strong asset. PMP or Gold Seal Certification preferred. Safety certifications (COR, WHMIS, First Aid) considered an asset. Strong understanding of construction methods, industry codes, and regulations. (Experience with pumping or water treatment systems is an asset.) Proficient in project management and coordination software such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera. (Competence in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD preferred.) Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration skills. Proven leadership with the ability to manage, direct, and motivate project teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical and commercial information clearly to clients and stakeholders. Skilled in contract negotiation, change management, and issue resolution. Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail. Client-focused approach with commitment to maintaining positive relationships throughout design, tender, and execution stages. Flexible and adaptable to changing project priorities and field conditions. Professional and confident in interactions with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Business-minded, capable of identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal development. Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
