Main Responsibilities

The Project Control Manager is responsible for the implementation of the tools, systems and work processes to effectively manage the control and reporting of costs, timelines and project progress. He is also responsible for leading, coordinating, evaluating and supporting a team of project control specialists.

  • Develop and implement a project control plan as part of the project implementation plan (PEP)
  • Develop costs, schedules and baseline estimate
  • Lead, coordinate, evaluate and support a team of project control specialists
  • Analyze variances in costs and timelines against the plan and communicate reasons for variances and proposed mitigation plans to project management
  • Supervise the definition and implementation of WBS
  • Perform planning, cost control, progress measurement and collection of performance data such as installed quantities and progress measurement data
  • Manage and track all changes and potential changes, ensuring that cost estimates and schedule changes are visible to the client and project management
  • Analyze the risks of the project
  • Contribute to team performance while combining technical skills, leadership, teamwork and people management skills.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as Project Control Manager
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of total experience
  • Must have been exposed to large-scale projects and large project teams
  • Bilingual: English, French (Bilingualism is required for this position, as the employee will be communicating on a daily basis with stakeholders (customers and colleagues) outside Quebec who do not speak French)
  • Experience with project control (cost, planning and estimation)
  • Strong know-how in project control tools and work processes
  • Experience in all phases of engineering, procurement and construction
  • Knowledge of contracts and contract administration
  • Experience managing small teams
  • Proven ability to work with project teams to influence and achieve desired results
  • Proficient in MS Office (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, graphics) and the project

Responsabilités principales :

Le / la contrôleur(euse) de projets est responsable de la mise en place des outils, systèmes et processus de travail pour gérer efficacement le contrôle et rapports de coûts, échéanciers et avancement du projet. Il est également responsable de diriger, coordonner, évaluer et supporter une équipe de spécialistes en contrôle de projets.

  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre un plan de contrôle de projets dans le cadre du plan d'exécution du projet (PEP) ;
  • Développer les coûts, les échéanciers et l'estimée de base ;
  • Diriger, coordonner, évaluer et supporter une équipe de spécialistes de contrôle de projets ;
  • Analyser les écarts dans les coûts et les échéanciers par rapport au plan et communiquer les raisons pour les écarts et les plans d'atténuation proposés à la gestion du projet ;
  • Superviser la définition et mise en place des WBS ;
  • Effectuer la planification, le contrôle de coûts, la mesure de l'avancement et la collecte des données de performance telles que les quantités installées et les données de mesure de l'avancement ;
  • Gérer et suivre tous les changements et changements potentiels, en veillant à s'assurer que les estimations des coûts et les changements de calendrier soient visibles auprès du client et de la gestion du projet ;
  • Analyser les risques du projet ;
  • Contribuer à la performance de l'équipe tout en combinant compétences techniques, leadership, travail d'équipe et compétences de gestion des personnes.

Qualifications requises :

  • Baccalauréat en ingénierie
  • Détenir un minimum de 10 ans d'expérience en tant que contrôleur de projets
  • Détenir un minimum de 15-20 années d'expérience totale
  • Doit avoir été exposé à des projets de grande envergure et à de grandes équipes de projet
  • Bilingue : anglais et français )Le bilinguisme est requis pour cette position puisque l'employé devra communiquer au quotidien avec des parties prenantes (clients et collègues) à l'extérieur du Québec ne parlant pas le français)
  • Solide savoir-faire dans les outils de contrôle de projets et les processus de travail
  • Expérience dans toutes les phases de l'ingénierie, de l'approvisionnement et de la construction
  • Connaissance des contrats et de l'administration des contrats
  • Expérience en gestion de petites équipes
  • Aptitude avérée à travailler avec les équipes de projet pour influencer et atteindre les résultats souhaités
  • Maîtrise de MS Office (tableurs, traitement de texte, présentations, graphiques) et du projet
