Primary Focus:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the electrician technician is responsible for the routine, and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting of manufacturing and packaging equipment such as inspections, repairs, installations, maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected, and uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Role - 70%

  • Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, installation of building circuits and repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation of equipment controls.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and upgrade the electrical distribution infrastructure.
  • Conduct equipment installations and modifications as required.
  • Conduct PLC & HMI programming changes as required.
  • Troubleshoot problems by gathering and analyzing on assigned equipment.
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
  • Experience working with multi-head scaler, volumetric fillers, and vertical form fill seal (VFFS) equipment.
  • Inspect work done by external vendors.
  • Repair parts as required.
  • Works with other trades groups to complete project assignment

Safety, Training & Processes - 10%

  • Responsible for supporting safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Ensures that Safety, Production and Accuracy standards are met and provides attention to all production processes to ensure they are carried out in agreement with safety and policies.
  • Coordinate the overall quality of the work and demonstrate an understanding of quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Conducts inspections of own and with QA and JHSC in accordance with company requirements.
  • Works effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Relevant manufacturing experience in both electrical and mechanical systems; hands on experience with troubleshooting.
  • Experience with process and high-speed packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting preferred; general maintenance skills.
  • Must possess the technical and analytical skills necessary to resolve process and equipment problems.
  • Experience in food industry or high-speed packaging.
  • Good PLC & HMI troubleshooting, programming skills is required.
  • Experience in instrumentation is an asset.
  • Lead hand or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Experience in MS Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints (ACAD drawings) and apply power and hand tools.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Electrician licenses is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $29.00-$31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
