CLASSIFICATION: PHARMACIST DEPARTMENT: PHARMACYPOSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – HPD STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE OCTOBER 2027) REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT WAGE RATE: $48.21 - $64.50Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacists are responsible for drug distribution and clinical activities for all patients at all Brightshores affiliated sites. This includes monitoring patient drug therapy and providing drug education to patients and other health care providers. The pharmacist reviews all physicians’ orders screening for drug interactions, therapeutic duplicates, dose range checking, therapeutic appropriateness and any other pharmacy related concerns. It may also include checking work of Technician staff and provision of pharmacy services in our retail pharmacy.Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:RequiredLicensure or eligibility for licensure with the Ontario College of PharmacistsAbility to provide and promote patient centered careLeadership, problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skillsInterviewing and patient assessment skillsWillingness to orient to other unit specialtiesProven verbal and written communication skillsInterest and experience in patient education and health promotionCommitment to continuous professional development and continuing educationGeneral computer skillsAvailable for all shifts, including weekends and ability for multi-site coverage when requiredPossession of a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and personal vehicleRecent satisfactory performance and attendance recordAdherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassmentAdvocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudesPreferredMembership in Canadian Society of Hospital PharmacistsKnowledge of Cerner information systemsA General Hospital Residency Certificate or 3 years’ experience in a hospital with clinical pharmacist responsibilities #J-18808-Ljbffr
