Title: Millwright Heavy Equipment Lead

Location: Bloomington Compost

Reporting to: Equipment Manager

Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am -4:00pm

Start Date: Immediately

Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be located out of our Clarington location in Ontario.

Responsibilities:

In the position of Heavy Equipment Technician your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Maintaining and repairing site equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
• Repair and service all equipment on site from loaders, excavators, skid steers, screening plants, conveyors, grinders, generators, etc.
• Maintain all required records and files for equipment maintenance. • Supervise and train Apprentice Technician.
• General shop maintenance and clean up.
• Assist in improving the Preventative Maintenance program within the compost group.
• Will be required to conduct services & repairs outdoors.
• Report to Equipment Manager.

Requirements:

The successful applicant will be comfortable with prioritization, planning, coordination, and organization, with an ability to respond and adapt in changing, high pressure environments. This individual will be able to assess problem situations, recognize issues, and use judgment to create solutions that meet required standards. Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined and possess a strong work ethic.

Licensed 433A Millwright
• You The ability will have the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Must have own set of tools.
• Basic computer knowledge as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are an asset for this position.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team-oriented environment is key in this position.
• Must be flexible schedule as you may be required to work weekends and holidays
