Join us.What The Role OffersThe Technical Accounting Manager will provide leadership and oversight for technical accounting guidance and support to stakeholders as the subject matter expert in accounting standards.The role provides guidance, accounting consideration and prepares formal assessments for accounting questions and complex accounting issues.Lead various cross-functional projects and teams supporting the Corporate Accounting teams monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc requirements.Lead global finance projects: system automation, process improvements, acquisition integration activities, and internal reporting development.Develop project plans, manage milestones, and provide timely status reports to project leaders.Prepare and present formal papers and memos on complex accounting issues outlining OpenText\'s accounting position and guidance to stakeholders including business units, capital project teams, senior management, and external auditors.Act as the subject matter expert in providing consultation, advice, and day-to-day guidance regarding technical accounting.Promote best practices for account reconciliations with Accounting Services and ensure proper accounting and controls are in place.Own month-end/quarter-end close activities, including equity roll and related journal entries, going concern and goodwill impairment.Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit and quarterly reviews as required.Develop custom internal reports using SAP, BPC BW, Blackline and other tools.Responsibilities (expanded)Lead and oversee technical accounting guidance for stakeholders as the subject matter expert in accounting standards.Provide analysis and formal documentation on complex accounting issues and transactions.Coordinate cross-functional projects and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting cycles.Interact with external auditors and senior management to communicate accounting conclusions.Develop internal reporting and analytics to support financial leadership.Drive process improvements and system automation initiatives in finance and accounting.Support acquisition integration activities and implementation of new processes.What You Need To Succeed4 to 5 years of related finance and accounting experience within either the software or high-tech industries.Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).CPA designation (or equivalent) required.Prior Big 4 firm experience.Strong collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset; able to work with minimal supervision and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Leadership and management skills to lead teams and cross-functional collaboration; ability to set high standards and clear expectations.Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills to advise senior management and stakeholders.Experience leading transformational change and risk management initiatives; ability to assess and address evolving requirements.Knowledge of project management principles; ability to coordinate multiple projects.U.S. GAAP experience preferred; SAP and Blackline experience preferred.One Last ThingOpenText is more than just a corporation, it\'s a global community where trust is foundational, the bar is raised, and outcomes are owned.
